Privacy Policy

Effective date

24 October 2026. Bayshorts is operated by Wonder Global Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Bayshorts app and website, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

An account identifier: when you first open the app we create an anonymous account so your list and progress work without signing up. If you choose to link an account, your phone number or email address. Activity in the app: which titles you open, trailers and episodes you watch and for how long, titles you save or join the waitlist for, and searches. Device information: device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate country derived from your IP address, and a device identifier used to prevent abuse. Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data. Messages you send us through Help & support or the support form, including any email address you give for a reply. Purchases: which coin packs, passes or VIP plans you bought and when (the store handles payment; we never see your card). Rewards: check-ins, spins, tasks, referrals and rewarded ads you completed, so we can credit coins.

How we use it

To run the service: stream video, keep your list and waitlist, and remember where you stopped. To recommend titles you are likely to enjoy. To decide which Coming Soon titles to produce next, based on waitlist demand. To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse. To fix crashes and improve the app. To answer your messages and send the notifications and emails you agreed to. To credit purchases, coins and rewards. We do not sell your personal data.

Ads in the app

Bayshorts can show optional rewarded video ads from Google AdMob: you choose to watch one in exchange for coins or an episode, and VIP members see none. To serve and measure these ads, Google receives your device advertising identifier, IP address and ad interactions. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland we ask for your consent first, and you can change it in Settings. Google handles this data under its own policy (policies.google.com/technologies/ads).

Advertising and tracking

When we run ads for Bayshorts on other platforms (such as TikTok, Meta and Google), we use AppsFlyer to learn which ads lead to installs and purchases, and share those results with the ad platform. On iPhone this happens only if you allow it when the app asks for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.

Who we share it with

Service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes above: Supabase (database and hosting), Bunny (video delivery), RevenueCat (purchase records), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), Resend (email), Vercel (website hosting), Google AdMob (rewarded ads, as described above), and AppsFlyer (ad attribution, as described above). Apple and Google process App Store and Google Play purchases under their own privacy policies; we never receive your payment details. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Where it is stored

Our providers store data in the European Union and the United States. Where data moves across borders we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Account data and activity are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and the data linked to it are deleted straight away, except where we must keep limited records by law. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months.

Your choices and rights

Delete your account at any time in the app: Profile, Settings, Delete account. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, using the support form at www.bayshorts.app/support. Depending on where you live, including Nigeria (NDPA 2023), Kenya, South Africa (POPIA), the UK and the EU (GDPR), you may have further rights, such as to object to processing or to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Bayshorts is not directed at children under 13, and some titles include mature or frightening themes. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
